About us · DexaFit Greenville, SC

A leader in in precision health testing

Explained like a friend would. We opened DexaFit Greenville to give people in the Upstate access to the same DEXA, metabolism and VO2 max equipment used in research labs and hospitals — without a referral, and with someone who walks you through what your numbers mean.

  • Owner-run — a small team led by owner Nicole Weber
  • Clinicians, not technicians — every DEXA scan is run by a certified bone densitometrist
  • Results before you leave — DEXA Body Scan, RMR and VO2 max results reviewed with you privately, on screen

“Today was my first DEXA Scan at DexaFit Greenville. I have had scans at two other locations. This was by far the most pleasant, educational and informative of my experiences.”

— Robert Buttery

Why we opened DexaFit Greenville

For years the only way to get a real DEXA scan or a proper metabolism test was a doctor’s order, a hospital appointment and a bill that made you wonder whether it was worth it. Most people never got one. The ones who did usually got a number on a printout and no explanation.

Nicole Weber spent more than 15 years in personalized fitness and nutrition watching people guess. Guess at body fat from the mirror, guess at calories from an app, guess at whether their training was building muscle or just wearing them down. The tools to stop guessing existed — they just weren’t open to the public.

In 2025 she opened DexaFit Greenville on Old Buncombe Road to change that. The idea was simple: bring in the same equipment hospitals and research labs use, staff it with clinicians, and take the referral, the insurance approval and the waiting out of the way. Anyone who wants to know their numbers can book online and be on the scanner within days.

The people who walk through our door are as varied as Greenville itself. Runners, cyclists and walkers. Furman University’s wellness program and its collegiate athletes. Pro cyclists, collegiate rowers and MMA fighters. Nationally ranked strongmen and pro bodybuilders. And just as many people who aren’t training for anything at all — they want to age well, feel better and know where they stand. They all get the same access to precision health testing, and a results conversation tailored to them — because a 22-year-old rower and a 65-year-old who wants to stay independent are asking their numbers very different questions.

The part we care about most happens after the scan. Your DEXA Body Scan, RMR and VO2 max results are reviewed with you on screen before you leave, in private — what the number is, what it means for you, and what would move it. We’re athletes ourselves, and we run every one of these tests on our own bodies. We built the place we wished had existed.

What you can expect from us

Precision health testing is only useful if you understand it. Four things we hold ourselves to on every visit.

The same equipment hospitals use

Our DEXA scanner is a GE Lunar Prodigy, the machine physicians rely on for bone density and body composition. Metabolism is measured with a COSMED canopy hood — you breathe normally under a clear hood rather than through a mouthpiece, which is the method used in metabolic research.

A clinician runs your DEXA scan

Nicole and Lucy are certified bone densitometrists, and Lucy is a registered nurse. Every DEXA Body Scan and bone density scan is run by one of them — not a front-desk hire who was shown which button to press.

You leave understanding your results

DEXA Body Scan, metabolism and VO2 max results are reviewed with you on screen before you leave, and are in the DexaFit app the same day — your DEXA Body Scan report is also emailed as a PDF. Bone density results go to your doctor, or to a physician through our MD Review.

No referral, no insurance hoops

Book online, pay as you go, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. If you want a test, you can have it — you don’t need anyone’s permission first.
